AARP Safe Driving Class Scheduled for November 1, 2012 - 10/16/2012 -

AARP SAFE DRIVING CLASS WILL BE HELD IN BREAUX BRIDGE ON NOVEMBER 1, 2012

(St. Martinville, La)- St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office will be hosting an AARP Driver Safety Class for anyone 50 years of age and older, on November 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will be held at the St. Martin Parish Fire Training Center located at 1035 A. Ruth Bridge Highway, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517.

The objectives of the AARP Driver Safety Program are to help seniors:

- Understand the effects of aging on driving.

- Learn driving strategies that take into account the changes we experience as we age.

- Identify the most common crash situations we face.

- Reduce their chances of having a crash.

- Update their knowledge and understanding of today's roads, vehicles, and other road users.

- Think about how they drive.

- Identify when driving may no longer be safe.

The cost of the class is $12 for AARP Members and $14 for Non- Members.

If you are a Veteran, during the month of November, you and your spouse can attend at no charge.

Most Vehicle Insurance Agencies offer a discount once you complete this class.
