BARN DESTROYED IN BREAUX BRIDGE THIS AFTERNOON BY POSSIBLE TORNADO

(St. Martinville, La.)- Shortly after 12:30 p.m. this afternoon the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office received a call regarding damage sustained to a barn off of Harry Huval Road in Breaux Bridge, following a storm that produced high winds when it moved through the area. Upon St. Martin Parish Deputies arrival, it was confirmed that the barn was totally destroyed. There were no injuries reported in connection with the storm passing through, however, there were two other reports of damage caused by the same storm system. The first was a trampoline that was flipped onto some power lines off of LaFreniere Road and another report off of Huval Rd. of minor damage to a structure.

Officials with the National Weather Service have been notified of the damage caused by this weather system, and we are awaiting confirmation regarding whether or not it was a tornado or high winds that caused the damage.
